Mamdani opposes Mohan Bhagwat's NYC event, says RSS vision clashes with pluralist India

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has voiced his opposition to an upcoming event featuring Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat at Madison Square Garden, while acknowledging that city authorities may not have the legal power to cancel a privately organised gathering.Speaking at a news conference on Tuesday, Mamdani addressed calls from civil rights and interfaith organisations for City Hall and Madison Square Garden management to prevent the event from taking place. “I don't support the rally, but I don't know if the city has any jurisdiction over cancelling a private event,” Mamdani told reporters. Pentagon says US casualties in Iran war climb to 774 .The US Department of Defence has reported that more than 750 service members have been injured since the start of the country's war against Iran. The Pentagon updated its war casualty database this week, adding 50 more injured service members to the list.According to the Defence Casualty Analysis System (DCAS) data, when totals from the Operation Epic Fury rubric are combined with updated figures in the “Overseas Operations” category, the total number comes out to 756 wounded in action. The Pentagon noted that the servicemen who have been killed in the operation still stand at 18, bringing the total number of killed and injured in the war to 774. नगरीय निकाय आम चुनाव-2026 के लिए मतदान दल गठन हेतु कार्मिकों का प्रथम रेंडमाइजेशन सम्पन्न| नगरीय निकाय आम चुनाव-2026 के लिए राज्य निर्वाचन आयोग, राजस्थान के निर्देशानुसार मतदान दलों के गठन के लिए कार्मिकों के डाटाबेस का प्रथम रेंडमाइजेशन शुक्रवार को राष्ट्रीय सूचना विज्ञान केंद्र, जोधपुर में जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी (जिला कलक्टर), जोधपुर श्री आलोक रंजन द्वारा किया गया। इस अवसर पर प्रभारी अधिकारी (कार्मिक) एवं मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी, जिला परिषद, जोधपुर श्री आशीष कुमार मिश्रा तथा जिला सूचना विज्ञान अधिकारी, राष्ट्रीय सूचना विज्ञान केंद्र, जोधपुर उपस्थित रहे। जिला जोधपुर में एक नगर निगम एवं छह नगर पालिकाओं के कुल 275 वार्डों में 905 मतदान केंद्र निर्धारित हैं। इनमें नगर निगम जोधपुर के 100 वार्डों में 727 बूथ तथा नगर पालिका भोपालगढ़ के 25 वार्डों में 25, बिलाड़ा के 40 वार्डों में 42, पीपाड़ शहर के 35 वार्डों में 36, मथानिया के 25 वार्डों में 25, बालेसर सत्ता के 25 वार्डों में 25 तथा तिंवरी के 25 वार्डों में 25 बूथ शामिल हैं। 905 मतदान केंद्रों के लिए सक्रिय एवं आरक्षित मतदान दलों हेतु आवश्यक कार्मिकों का चयन किया जाना है। चुनाव कार्य से राजस्व प्रशासन, पुलिस प्रशासन, न्यायिक विभाग, नगर निगम, नगर पालिका, पंचायत विभाग, वन विभाग एवं आबकारी विभाग के कार्मिकों को मुक्त रखा गया है। इसके अतिरिक्त पदधारी महिला कार्मिकों, मेडिकल स्टाफ, होमगार्ड, दिव्यांगजन एवं संविदा कार्मिकों को भी चुनाव ड्यूटी से मुक्त रखा गया है। EMS पोर्टल पर उपलब्ध कार्मिक डाटाबेस में से निर्धारित मापदंडों के अनुसार मतदान दलों के लिए कार्मिकों का चिन्हीकरण किया गया। प्रत्येक मतदान दल में एक पीठासीन अधिकारी तथा तीन मतदान अधिकारी नियुक्त किए जाएंगे। पीठासीन अधिकारियों के लिए राजपत्रित अधिकारी अथवा समकक्ष स्तर के अधिकारियों तथा मतदान अधिकारियों के लिए उनकी सेवा वरिष्ठता के अनुरूप कार्मिकों का चयन किया गया है।

बालेसर में सिलिकोसिस जांच शिविर आयोजित, 45 संदिग्ध मरीजों के प्रकरणों पर हुई कार्रवाई | जिले के बालेसर क्षेत्र में सिलिकोसिस से संबंधित संदिग्ध मरीजों को राहत पहुंचाने के उद्देश्य से शुक्रवार को सिलिकोसिस बोर्ड का गठन कर विशेष जांच शिविर आयोजित किया गया। शिविर में पंजीकृत 45 संदिग्ध मरीजों की आवश्यक चिकित्सकीय जांच की गई तथा उनके प्रकरणों में नियमानुसार अग्रिम कार्रवाई की गई। गत दिवस बालेसर में आयोजित रात्रि चौपाल के दौरान जिला कलेक्टर आलोक रंजन ने सिलिकोसिस से संबंधित मामलों को प्राथमिकता के साथ निस्तारित करने के निर्देश दिए थे। जिला कलेक्टर के निर्देशों की पालना में शुक्रवार को चिकित्सा विभाग की ओर से सिलिकोसिस बोर्ड का गठन कर शिविर आयोजित किया गया। शिविर में क्षेत्र के पंजीकृत संदिग्ध मरीजों को बुलाकर उनकी आवश्यक जांच एवं स्वास्थ्य परीक्षण किया गया। मुख्य चिकित्सा एवं स्वास्थ्य अधिकारी डॉ. सुरेंद्र सिंह शेखावत ने बताया कि शिविर में कुल 45 संदिग्ध मरीजों के प्रकरणों की जांच कर आवश्यक प्रक्रिया पूरी की गई। उन्होंने बताया कि सिलिकोसिस से जुड़े मामलों में मरीजों की पहचान, चिकित्सकीय परीक्षण तथा पात्रता के आधार पर आगे की कार्रवाई सुनिश्चित की जा रही है, ताकि पात्र मरीजों को सरकारी योजनाओं का लाभ मिल सके। शिविर के दौरान मरीजों की स्वास्थ्य संबंधी जानकारी जुटाने के साथ ही आवश्यक चिकित्सकीय परीक्षण किए गए। संबंधित मेडिकल टीम ने मरीजों को सिलिकोसिस बीमारी से बचाव एवं स्वास्थ्य संबंधी सावधानियों के बारे में भी जानकारी दी। विभाग की ओर से सिलिकोसिस से प्रभावित एवं संदिग्ध मरीजों के मामलों को प्राथमिकता के साथ देखने के निर्देश दिए गए हैं।

चुनाव संबंधी सभी व्यवस्थाएं समयबद्ध एवं आपसी समन्वय से पूर्ण करने के दिए निर्देश|जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी एवं जिला कलक्टर श्री आलोक रंजन ने शनिवार को नगरीय निकाय आम चुनाव-2026 के मद्देनजर राजकीय पॉलिटेक्निक महाविद्यालय का निरीक्षण कर चुनाव संबंधी विभिन्न व्यवस्थाओं की प्रारंभिक तैयारियों का जायजा लिया। उन्होंने महाविद्यालय परिसर में प्रस्तावित स्ट्रांग रूम, काउंटिंग रूम, मतदान दलों की रवानगी एवं वापसी तथा मतगणना से जुड़ी व्यवस्थाओं के संबंध में संबंधित अधिकारियों के साथ विस्तृत समीक्षा की।जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी ने महाविद्यालय परिसर का अवलोकन करते हुए संबंधित अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिए कि नगरीय निकाय आम चुनाव से संबंधित सभी व्यवस्थाएं आपसी समन्वय के साथ निर्धारित समयावधि में पूर्ण कर ली जाएं। उन्होंने कहा कि निर्वाचन प्रक्रिया से जुड़े प्रत्येक कार्य में समयबद्धता और सुव्यवस्थित प्रबंधन का विशेष ध्यान रखा जाए तथा संबंधित प्रकोष्ठ अपने दायित्वों के अनुरूप तैयारियों को समय रहते अंतिम रूप दें। श्री रंजन ने कहा कि मतदान से पूर्व मतदान दलों की रवानगी तथा मतदान सम्पन्न होने के पश्चात उनकी वापसी राजकीय पॉलिटेक्निक महाविद्यालय से होगी। वहीं मतगणना की प्रक्रिया भी इसी परिसर में संपादित की जाएगी। ऐसे में मतदान दलों के आवागमन से लेकर मतगणना तक की संपूर्ण व्यवस्था सुचारु एवं व्यवस्थित रहनी चाहिए।जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी ने मतदान दलों की रवानगी के दौरान टेंट, बैठक व्यवस्था, पार्किंग तथा माइक सहित आवश्यक व्यवस्थाओं के बारे में अधिकारियों से जानकारी ली। उन्होंने मतदान दलों की रवानगी एवं वापसी के दौरान आवागमन व्यवस्थित रखने तथा अधिकारियों एवं कार्मिकों को किसी प्रकार की असुविधा नहीं हो, इसके लिए संबंधित अधिकारियों को समन्वय के साथ आवश्यक व्यवस्थाएं सुनिश्चित करने के निर्देश दिए।
